A young Manchester United fan got the surprise of his life when he came face-to-face with his favorite player's family at Saturday's FA Cup Final.

The Red Devils put a disappointing season behind them at Wembley by impressively dispatching Premier League champions and rivals Manchester City and winning the FA Cup.

First-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo were enough to see United lift their thirteenth FA Cup and secure European football for next season.

Yet, United's victory may not have been the best part of one young fan's FA Cup Final day, after a heartwarming meeting with the match winner's family on the Wembley escalator.

A video shared on social media shows the fan wearing the shirt of Mainoo, only to be standing in front of both the Man United midfielder's father and brother.

The moment occurred as father and son were traveling down one of Wembley's escalators, and the boy was asked if the player on the back of his shirt was his favorite player.

Once the child turns round, the voice behind the camera reveals that Mainoo is his son, much to the total amazement of the father and his son.

They are then introduced to the England star's big brother, who can be heard laughing at the response after revealing they are Mainoo's family.

The interaction immediately sees the dad ask his lad to 'say hello', at which point he stops eating his crisps, wipes his hands on his jeans, and shakes the hand of Mainoo's father.

It would have been a proud day for Mainoo's father and brother, as they witnessed a sublime performance from the teenage sensation.

The midfielder was on hand to finish off a sweeping United move in the first half, putting the finishing touch to Bruno Fernandes' no-look pass to put the Red Devils 2-0 up.

The goal proved to be the difference after Jeremy Doku's last consolation, and Mainoo was rewarded by being named man of the match.

After the massacre in Rafah, Netanyahu probably expected to have one more victory item on his wish list. However, what happened next backfired and turned international statements into action.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claim last month that his cabinet was just one step away from victory proved to be mere lip service and empty words. The war's objectives have not been achieved; even in the last 7 months, more than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed.

After Israel carried out the massacre at the Rafah tents, which left 45 people dead and most of them burned alive, Netanyahu probably expected to get one victory point on his imaginary list. However, this backfired and turned words into international action.

Colombia broke off diplomatic relations while Turkey announced a trade embargo, and more importantly, Ireland, Norway, and Spain recognized the state of Palestine. The rest of the world did not have time to take to the streets just hours after the Rafah massacre and call on their governments to remain silent.

This comes amid International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan's announcement that they are seeking arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant. Not only that, his strategy, both in Rafah and Gaza, has brought internal turmoil within the cabinet.

Gallant said that Israel would not rule in Gaza and called for an alternative government to Hamas to be found, fostered, and formed. Netanyahu responded by saying that there should be no plans for the “day after” the war until it is won.

These two leaders of Israel's war effort have not spoken to each other for two weeks now. Even Benny Gantz gave Netanyahu until June to discuss plans for the future of Gaza, and if not, he threatened to resign. Netanyahu still refuses.

Between Stokes’ Headingley heroics and Rishab Pant’s Gabba massacre, we forgot to appreciate Kusal Perera’s 153* against South Africa in Durban. What an innings it was! Chasing 300 on a 4th or a 5th-day pitch is the toughest task in international cricket but Kusal Perera made it seem easy that day.
Perera's innings against South Africa in the first test in 2019 was nothing short of extraordinary. No one gave Sri Lanka a chance at the start of the match. They were battered and bruised by England at home and were smashed by New Zealand and Australia Down Under. But as they say 'Never say Never' in sports. They fought till the final second and found a superhuman in the form of Kusal Perera. Let me remind you, this wasn't scripted. But even the greatest of storytellers wouldn't have scripted it any better. Perera's innings was filled with aggressive stroke play and resilience, defying the South African bowling attack against all odds.

In the first test against South Africa in 2019, Sri Lanka was struggling at 52-3 chasing 304 when Kusal Perera stepped up to the crease with determination in his eyes.
Facing a daunting target, Perera showcased incredible skill and resilience against a formidable South African bowling attack consisting of Dale Steyn, Keshav Maharaj, and Kagiso Rabada. Sri Lanka was slowly moving closer to the target at 206-5 but the 64th over changed things when they lost 2 wickets in two balls, this started a domino effect and Sri Lanka’s score became 226-9 in the 70th over. With Perera at 86 and the no. 11 batter as his non-striker, it looked like South Africa would cruise home easily but Perera shifted gears and started talking in boundaries. He did not spare any bowler, whether Steyn, Rabada, or Maharaj.
Perera defied the odds with every stroke, displaying unmatched courage and determination.
And when he reached his century, the crowd erupted in celebration, recognizing the sheer brilliance of his innings. The job wasn’t done yet.
His teammates watched in awe as he single-handedly led Sri Lanka's charge towards victory.
There was a chance of a catch in the 83rd over but it dropped short of Elgar at 3rd slip, du Plessis picked the ball and aimed at the non-striker’s end but missed the direct hit and went for 5 runs. Even luck was on Sri Lanka’s side that day. Perera continued his conquest and got Sri Lanka home 3 overs later.
He played a match-winning knock of 153*, guiding Sri Lanka to a historic one-wicket victory their 2nd ever in test cricket. Their first one-run victory was also against South Africa at Colombo in 2006.

Kusal Perera's innings will be remembered as one of the greatest displays of skill and determination in the history of cricket.
