Ibi describes the routine in Auschwitz including roll call and the daily rations. It took 10 days for her to begin to get used to her surroundings and realise what Auschwitz, and the chimneys she could smell, were for. After 3 months Ibi and her sister were taken from Auschwitz to Germany to work, where they stayed until a week before liberation. They were taken on a march at the end of the war to a prisoner of war camp where they were finally liberated by the Americans.
