Two months after Hurricane Katrina, the remarkable Papa Mali and his band were among the New Orleans music acts performing at that year's transplanted Voodoo Fest in Memphis.Here they perform an afternoon set in Handy Park.The accompanying visuals are from Beale Street, of course, but the musical themes are pure New Orleans.Although this great performance was not used in the 2006 film NEW ORLEANS MUSIC IN EXILE, it was included as a bonus feature for the film's initial DVD release.
