_britains-smartest-dog-border-collie-who-knows-the-names-of-all-231-of-his-toys.webp "Meet “Britain’s smartest dog” - a border collie who knows the names of all 231 of his toys. <br/><br/>Martin Morris, 48, has been teaching seven-year-old Max the names of his toys since he was 12 weeks old. <br/><br/>Along with his wife, hospital cleaner Helen, 49, Martin has spent £1,115 on toys for Max - and now claims he can recognise every single one. <br/><br/>They shout the name of a toy - such as 'Hector the hedgehog' - from another room, and Max can root through seven bags of toys to find the correct one.<br/><br/>Martin, a taxi driver from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, said: “Max is a very talented boy - we think he should be famous.<br/><br/>“We’ve got seven wash baskets, overflowing with toys. We’re at 231 now, and he knows every one of their names.<br/><br/>“You can test him all you like - even with toys that haven’t seen the light of day in a while. He’ll still recognise it.”<br/><br/>Martin and Helen adopted Max - born from two working sheepdogs - from a farm in Manchester.<br/><br/>The “name game” has become a nightly ritual ever since - and the couple insist it keeps the pup sharp. <br/><br/>Martin said: “It’s taken us seven years to get to this stage - we read about the US collie called Chaser, who knows the names of 1,022 toys. <br/><br/>“But I don’t think any dog in the UK has managed to surpass 231 - making our boy the smartest. <br/><br/>“We’d buy Max a toy pretty much every week - Hector the Hedgehog, Sophia the Squirrel and Deeno the Dino, to name a few.<br/><br/>“And every night, before we go to bed, we play the name game.”<br/><br/>The “name game” involves Martin and Helen calling to Max from their bedroom, after lining a selection of his toys up on the floor.<br/><br/>They shout a name to him, and he has to run and identify the toy. <br/><br/>Martin says the hound has always been able to do this without treats, or any other incentive. <br/><br/>“We’ll go, ‘where’s…’ in an exaggerated voice - and then say the name of the toy. <br/><br/>“And off he’ll pop, looking for toys on the floor.<br/><br/>“He’ll smile at us afterwards, with this big smile that looks like a human’s.”<br/><br/>The couple have no plans to stop testing Max any time soon - and still buy a new toy for him every week. . <br/><br/>Martin added. “His favorite is Leo the Lion - he’s the first one we ever bought for him, and he still remembers him.”")
_fussy-eater-was-addicted-on-potato-waffles-for-30-years-until-he-was-hypnotised.webp "A fussy eater who was hooked on potato WAFFLES for 30 years has finally had a proper meal - thanks to hypnosis.<br/><br/>Ben Gojka, 35, munched through six waffles a day from the age of five, getting through more than 65,000 in his lifetime.<br/><br/>The electrician would skip breakfast and lunch and snack on smarties and fruit pastels before wolfing down a plate of lattice-shaped potato squares for dinner.<br/><br/>He would sometimes add a pork or steak medallion to add flavour but would never miss out on his favourite dish.<br/><br/>Even the thought of eating any fruit or veg would make Ben feel sick and even gag.<br/><br/>Ben became desperate for help when he collapsed and was rushed to hospital last year.<br/><br/>He was diagnosed with ARFID — avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder – after contacting cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist David Kilmurry.<br/><br/>After undergoing several hypnotherapy sessions, Ben has now been able to enjoy fruit, veg and pasta for the first time.<br/><br/>Ben, who lives with partner Kath, 31, in Telford, Shrops., said: “I’d have one meal a day, which would be an evening meal. <br/><br/>“I’d have six of these waffles and a steak and pork medallion. It was just one meal a day. <br/><br/>“I’d get the Aldi ones and I’d probably pick up four packs, so 36 waffles, and that would be five packs a week.<br/><br/>“I wouldn’t eat anything through the day, I’d probably just drink Lucozade at work or Ribena. <br/><br/>“Maybe I’d have a pack of fruit pastels or smarties in the evening before I go to bed.”<br/><br/>Ben says his food-obsession began when he was around four or five years of age.<br/><br/>He added: “I’ve been bad with food ever since I could remember. <br/><br/>“My mum said I used to eat everything and anything and then at one point I just stopped. I was about two, I can’t even remember. <br/><br/>“I would have a cheeseburger then, but that was it. <br/><br/>“I’ve been bad with food ever since I could remember. <br/><br/>“My mum said I used to eat everything and anything and then at one point I just stopped. It’s actually ARFID.”<br/><br/>Avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) is a condition where an individual purposely avoids certain foods.<br/><br/>Ben sought treatment for his condition in November from eating expert David Kilmurry and has gone on to eat a range of foods since. <br/><br/>He now eats bran flakes for breakfast and isn’t afraid of trying new foods, but still sticks to his usual supper. <br/><br/>Ben said: “I didn’t know what to expect from hypnotherapy but David put me under and brought me back up and brought in a plate with food on. <br/><br/>“There were bran flakes, bits of apple and dried sultanas. I actually tried them on the first session. I said ‘how is that even possible?’<br/><br/>“I’ve tried salads, red onions, all different kinds of fruit. Apple, blueberries, apple, strawberries, raspberries. <br/><br/>“All the main healthy foods at such. I tried a brussels sprout, raw. <br/><br/>“I do feel a lot healthier in myself and happier.”<br/><br/>David, who runs clinics in Coventry and in London’s Harley Street, said: “Ben came in with his partner Kath after being hospitalised by his ARFID.<br/><br/>“I was shocked at the fact his safe food was waffles but after hypnosis Ben ploughed through two plates of new foods including spaghetti fresh fruit salads and cereals.<br/><br/>“It was an honour to meet and work with Ben and I wish him the very best health in future as a free eater.<br/><br/>“I hear Ben now loves meals out and spicy sandwiches. I’m very pleased it’s worked out for him.”")

Davey Hamilton, from Indianapolis, was struggling to find the truck of his dreams. But having been inspired by his friend in Maine, another former driver who owned a truck, Davey decided to take things one step further. But to build his backwards truck, Davey had to first find a truck with a big back window that could act as a windscreen. Davey told R.Rides: “A lot of the older trucks have really small back windows; they don’t have the wide ones. I couldn’t find a truck with a big back window. I happened to find this truck three miles from my father’s house and knew I had to get it.” The truck had its original body, frames and pedals. “We had put the lights on obviously, going the wrong direction. I didn't know what to do for bed cover. So, we figured to keep the rustic look.” Davey had to do a lot of work for the truck to work just right. “We had to cut a hole between the bed of the truck and the cab of the truck for your feet to go in. And so that had to be sealed up so there's no water getting inside the truck.” With the seats in and doors on, the truck still had a little to go before making its road debut. The windshield wipers got installed to make it safe, so the truck had everything that’s required to get going. “It looks like it's supposed to go forward. And so, it took some time and to get everything levelled out and make sure that was mounted properly.” And Davey loves his creation for lots of reasons. “Number one, it’s an attention getter. Number two, it's definitely a fan favourite, number three, it was a lot of work. There's new people that see it every time we take it out and it's definitely a crowd getter.”")
