Minutes before the title card comes on screen, director Prashanth Neel makes us ready for what to expect from the follow-up of the blockbuster 'KGF: Chapter 1'. In a jaw-dropping opening scene, he shows how his passion and grandeur of scale are still intact.<br/><br/>Rocky bhai, the dreaded gangster, has full control of KGF after his epic elimination of Garuda, son of Suryavardhan, the heir of the gold fields. But once you own one of the most precious pieces of land, you are sure to face the heat of people with power. In comes Adheera (Sanjay Dutt), Suryavardhan's brother, and Ramika Sen (Raveena Tandon), the prime minister of India.<br/><br/>For the first 20 minutes, the film rides on an intense tempo with many characters slowly finding their places in the plot. In the build-up to the interval, Neel strikes a surprise that none of us can predict. And then, 'KGF: Chapter 2' takes an almighty leap.<br/><br/>Neel's freaky ideas are ridiculously uncompromising. He has the confidence to translate his wacky and even over-the-top thoughts on screen in an enjoyable fashion. Two scenes that bring the roof down with this kind of approach are the one inside a police station and Rocky's second big face-off with Adheera. Giving company to Neel's outrageous verve is Ravi Basrur's score, which keeps our blistering excitement at the highest level. Cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda completes the technical department triumvirate with his visuals of breathtaking appeal.<br/><br/>One sharp criticism of 'KGF: Chapter 1' was that it unabashedly celebrated machismo with little emphasis on conflicts. However, this film is never a one-man show as it shows Rocky consistently challenged by his rivals. He is also no longer invincible. His vulnerability makes him slightly emotional and even pushes him to think smart to defeat his powerful foes.<br/><br/>Neel's writing triumph lies in how we are completely accustomed to his fiery attitude of Rocky. His character graph gets interesting as Rocky becomes greedy and selfish. His relentless pursuit of fulfilling his mother's wishes might unsettle us but that makes the character authentic. It does justice to the film's idea of a powerful people making places powerful.")

There are some dialogues that make you laugh or sound too heavy, but the overall writing isn't impressive enough to leave a mark. Pathaan is high on action but it's better if you do not question the logic behind gravity-defying lifts and drops for there's none. They are a visual treat and a spectacle that immerses you without even trying too hard. It gets a bit too unrealistic at times, but that's what you get when filmmakers try to mount a film on the scale of a Hollywood actioner. The action is top class but some VFX felt weak and you could so easily make out the green chroma screen in those sequences. Another thing that kept me confused for most part of the first half was Shridhar Raghavan's screenplay and the non-linear narrative. The pace with which it kept jumping from one timeline and one continent to another, it just got too messy after a point. It is at the pre-interval block, that pieces of the puzzle start to fall in place.<br/><br/>An Indian agent races against a doomsday clock as a ruthless mercenary, with a bitter vendetta, mounts an apocalyptic attack against the country. If Santa Cruz is more of an athletic athlete on the outside, he's become more of an A/V club nerd on the inside.<br/><br/>Santa Cruz now benefits from Hyundai's (optional) curved panoramic screen. It consists of a 12.3-inch instrument display behind the steering wheel and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen in the middle of the dashboard. Since this is a turntable, the automaker hasn't given up on buttons, and there's physical switchgear for frequently used audio and HVAC controls.<br/><br/>Matching the very large infotainment screen, the front panel is also slim and wide; vents appear to extend from door to door. The new steering wheel provides better control, and for rear-seat passengers, Hyundai added a center armrest with two cupholders.<br/><br/>2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is Sportier on the Outside, Cowier on the Inside<br/>The truck comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and supports over-the-air updates. It's also equipped with Digital Key 2, a fingerprint scanner, Hyundai's in-car payment system, and Bluelink+ connected car technology.<br/><br/>While the interior and exterior were renewed, there was no change under the hood. Santa Cruz still comes with two engine options; 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 191 hp (142 kW / 194 PS) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque, and a 2.5-liter turbo producing 281 hp. (210 kW / 285 PS) and 311 lb-ft (422 Nm) of torque. Both are connected to a lightly tuned eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The multi-disc hydraulic torque converter increases responsiveness and the downsized oil pump minimizes friction losses.<br/><br/>The naturally aspirated engine can tow up to 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg), while the 2.5-liter turbo can tow 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) and comes standard with all-wheel drive.<br/>")
